Companies Combine Manufacturing Capabilities to Meet Customer Demand for Material Innovation

Moosup, CT – May 22, 2019 – Griswold, LLC, a leading manufacturer of custom-engineered cellular elastomer and high-performance polyurethane, announced today that Dave Sherman will lead the company’s product development efforts in their next phase as part of Rogers Corporation. Griswold is known for collaborating with its customers to fabricate solutions to meet design requirements in diverse markets such as automotive, electronics, mass transportation, construction and consumer. The company was acquired by Rogers in July, 2018.

Since the acquisition, the two companies have shared best practices in their business process to most efficiently and effectively serve their customers. Combined initiatives include sharing employee safety programs; integrating new product development resources and capabilities by blending Griswold’s approach to innovation with Rogers’ technology; and training Rogers’ global technical sales force to represent the Griswold product lines.

A veteran in the materials solutions business, Sherman’s experience involves a wide variety of foams including polyethylene, polypropylene, EVA, rubber, polyurethane, silicone, and melamine. As senior product line manager at Rogers Corporation, he is responsible for understanding the markets, customers, and applications served in order to lead the development of new products, price products accordingly, and manage the commercial process to satisfy customers.  His role also involves the development of literature, product guides, web site content, samples, and demos that help customers understand how the company’s products can help solve their toughest problems.

Sherman has a chemical engineering degree from MIT and an MBA from RPI, as well as over 30 years of experience in the business of developing material solutions to meet demanding customer needs.
