What is PET?

PET, or polyethylene terephthalate, is the most common thermoplastic polymer in the polyester family. It is used in the form of a film to give some of our products increased rigidity and tensile and elongation strength.

What is microcellular polyurethane foam?

Microcellular polyurethane foam is a fine structured, open cell urethane foam that provides excellent resistance to compression set at a reasonable price point.

What makes foam such a flexible material choice?

Foam is compressible. It can fit into small spaces to create an environmental seal, to supply spring force or manage vibration. It also has the ability to be shaped, converted, into a virtually unlimited number of configurations.

Are Griswold’s materials Green?

Griswold’s foams are tough and durable offering long term superior performance in your application. After all, the greenest product is one that does its job well in the long run such that you don’t consume precious resources because it requires maintenance or early replacement.

I’ve heard about RoHS-compliance. What is it, is it necessary, and are Griswold’s materials RoHS compliant?

RoHS stands for Restriction of Hazardous Substances. Also known as Directive 2002/95/EC, it originated in the European Union and restricts the use of specific hazardous materials found in electrical and electronic products. RoHS was introduced to improve the welfare of consumers, distributors, manufacturers and the environment. All of Griswold’s products commonly used in electronics are RoHS compliant.

Are Griswold materials easily customizable?

Yes. All of Griswold’s materials can be customized to meet our customer’s specific material needs.

How many product lines does Griswold currently offer?

Griswold produces four product lines: KUSHON®, enlighten-U®, and FlameSafeTM.
